Condemnation of Environmental Damage

Kalyan criticized the large-scale tree-cutting for YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visits, which affected the state’s ecological balance. He stated that such actions would face strict penalties under the Andhra Pradesh Water, Land, and Trees Act (WALTA). Inspired by the Bishnoi community’s dedication to trees and the Chipko movement, he emphasized policy changes to protect the environment.

Tackling Illegal Mining and Smuggling

The Deputy CM highlighted illegal mining’s ecological impact in Eluru and other districts, noting the toll-free number established for reporting such activities. Additionally, he announced plans to auction red sanders logs seized from smugglers, strengthening enforcement efforts.
